"You guys have been wonderful to work with...true professionals! I believe there will be other schools (or Universities/ Colleges) that will choose to follow in our footsteps. I will point them to you!" - Peter Mason, Stelly's Secondary School.

Lead-Climbing at Mount Pleasant Community Centre, Vancouver, BC

What HPCW can do for you:
  • complete custom turnkey packages using the best products from all those currently available on the market.
  • build the wall with local labour and materials - our industry-leading structural drawings stamped by a P.Eng. certified Civil Engineer can take advantage of local resources.
  • purchase individual project components: conceptual design, engineering, personnel training, risk management consulting, operations design, or purchasing decisions - we will do only that which you require and request.

HPCW is unique in the climbing wall world:

  • We work within your budget to build the best facility for your needs using the best choice of products available on the market.
  • We work with pre-fabricated structures, steel or wood frames, a variety of texturizer surfaces, exterior or interior structures - using any choice of products on the market that best suits your requirements.
  • Your wall is designed with operations success in mind...as well as being visually exciting and fun to climb!

CONSULTING SERVICES:

  • Start-up requirements: from community discussions to engineering.
  • RISK MANAGEMENT:
    • Our certified staff can train your personnel - both prior to start-up, and as an ongoing service.
    • We can provide you with an Operations and Safety Procedures Manual, customized to your facility by industry certified professionals.
    • We can perform inspections on the wall and its components, including engineering inspections of the structure. NOTE: HPCW reccommends 3rd party engineering inspections every three years, regardless of manufacturer.
  • Our Purchasing experts can select the right combination of holds, equipment, and other time-consuming shopping details for your particular facility.
  • Concept Design - using 3-D electronic modelling and artist's renditions.
  • We can design and engineer the climbing structure and the building it's going into.
  • Route-setting - Professional setting to get your wall off to a good start, or to freshen up your existing wall.
  • LEED Projects: HPCW is committed to environmental protection and supports the The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating Systemâ„¢. For more information about LEED, go to the Canada Green Building Council website: http://www.cagbc.org/leed/what/index.php.

Since each project is evaluated individually, the role HPCW products play in LEED certification usually requires a discussion with our engineering team. Please contact us about how your project can qualify for LEED Certification.

Wall Types:

  • Textured Plywood Roped Climbing Wall: engineered and built using a timber or steel frame. This is the most cost efficient - and most favoured for commercial operations. Generally best suited for indoor use. A variety of finished texture options are available. See Projects Page for examples.
  • Composite Panel System: great for showpiece locations and outdoor use. The panels are made of quality composite materials, and are resistant to rain, frost, snow, wind, and UV rays.
  • Traverse Wall, or Bouldering Wall: these walls are low enough that no ropes are required and pads protect spills and falls.

Mats:

  • Bouldering/ Traverse Wall Mats: These are custom measured and made. The only mats on the market worth landing on. Especially useful for highly-featured, non-vertical walls. These can be ordered/ installled to easily fold-up and cover the wall. Lock-able. "STOP - NO CLIMBING" type signs available - if requested.

  • Multi-Layer Shock-Absorbing Gym Floor : Dual-density foam flooring with gymnastic quality surface - functional, durable, and aesthetic. Easy to clean and replace sections. Ask us for a quote.

Holds, Climbing Equipment, and other goodies: If desired, we choose holds on the market that are made close to where you have your facility, and we choose only the ones you will need. We can fill an order to suit your specific requirements without you having to spend precious time deciding from a selection of thousands of holds on the market. Earth tones available.

This traverse wall is at the Mount Pearl YMCA in St. John's, Newfoundland. It was built using local labour and materials. These pads also fold up to close off the wall, and a locking mat system with signage prevent unauthorized usage.

The Citywall 3-D Panel System can bedesigned specifically to meet customers' needs.

Wall-to-wall dual density flooring with durable gymnastic type bonded "carpet" surface. Sections can be replaced over time - if required.

Citywall Stalactites are lightweight, easy to install, and can accommodate holds bolted onto the surface. A great way to add another dimension to steep surfaces, or roofs.
